PET OF THE MONTH- AUGUST 2023

Pet of the month goes to this girl Chilli!

Chilli came in for a visit with Dr Raj for limping on her left hind leg on and off for the past 4-5 weeks. Dr Raj on examination assessed both legs and noticed that she had a grade 3 patella laxity in the left leg. This means that her kneecap which is normally located in a groove called a ‘Trochlear groove” keeps ‘popping’ out.

This meant that she had to undergo a surgical procedure to repair the issue.  Dr Raj would use his orthopaedic tools to deepen the Trochlear groove so that the kneecap will sit better and prevent it from popping out in the future.

Chilli recovered very well after the procedure and is now starting to get back into her longer walks. Her owner has said she has not shown any signs of pain.

We would like to thank Rachel and her family for taking the best care of her!
