Meet Gemma, a beautiful 7-year-old Bull Arab who has been rescued through the “Oldies but Goodies” rescue group. Gemma first came to see Dr Raj as she came into the rescue with a sore eye and painful back legs. On exam it was obvious that Gemma suffered from what is called an Entropian- this is a condition in which your eyelid, usually the lower one, is turned inward so that your eyelashes rub against your eyeball, causing discomfort. Her back legs were also causing her grief because she has severe arthritis as well as torn cruciate ligaments in both knees.
Not long after her appointment Gemma was booked in to fix her entropian and 1 of her cruciate ligaments. Dr Raj performed both the entropian and the MMP on Gemma, her surgery went exactly to plan and she woke up smoothly from her anaesthetic.
Since her procedure Dr Raj has seen her multiple times for revisits. Her eye looks amazing and she is already walking on her leg better then before.
We would like to thank the “Oldies but Goodies” rescue group for saving this sweet girl, and to her new family who fell in love and donated a massive portion towards her surgery. She is such a lucky girl to have found you all.
