Pet of the month for November 2022 goes to this goofy boy, Gilbert!
Gilbert was having a fantastic day out, having ice-cream & going for a cruise on the back of his dad’s ute with his sister. While cruising down South Western HWY a very silly man on a motorcycle decided to start driving erratically in front of Gilberts dad, causing him to have to slam on his breaks & swerve while doing 100mk an hour!
Gilberts sister was ok, but poor Gilberts lead snapped under the quick tension & he went flying over the edge & onto the road. Due to the adrenalin and shock Gilbert hit the road & bolted into the nearby bushland. His dad had to look for him for over an hour before he was found.
Thank God his dad was able to find him & rushed him straight down for Dr Raj to assess. The poor guy was cut up pretty badly, had a large haematoma above his left eye & had major swelling on both front legs/feet. After giving him some fluids to help calm him down & reduce the shock, he was taken through to have some x-rays performed. To our amazement, he had no fractures at all! Next step was to suture up all his wounds, approx. 7 in total.
Gilbert went home on lots of pain relief & was completely rested for the following 2 weeks. After some healing his swelling went away & his wounds healed perfectly. You wouldn’t even think he had been through such a traumatic experience. We would love to thank his mum & dads quick thinking by getting him down to us as soon as possible. He is definitely one lucky boy!!
